Blitz vs Rapid

An issue I’ve run into which is pretty frustrating is playing blitz at your certain elo level, but the person you’re paired up against may be the same for that time frame, but nearly 200-600 points higher in rapid. Obviously more skilled. How are you supposed to gain progress that way? I wish I was truly playing people my level more often than not.

For example: hovering around 1150-1200 blitz, and played someone rated less than me, but 1800+ rapid. How is there not a way to pair accurately?
Blitz and rapid are different games with different ratings.
People can be good at one and bad at the other. The required skills are different.
If you want to gain progress, then play rapid, preferably 15|10 to improve your chess skill.
Blitz is for fun, rapid is for progress.
