In Bobbys foot steps

Bobby Fischer was fantastic. He is also my chess hero. I traveled to New York from Sweden and before my trip I had decided to visit the place where Bobby lived. Lincoln Place 560 in Brooklyn. I also visited the Marshall chessclub where Bobby played "The game of the century" against Robert Byrne in 1956.

Take a look at it here. I took a shot with my mobile inside the apartment building where Bobby walked every day. In the same building where he studied so much chess.

Fischer was most gentlemanlike for his opponents.
He was a pain to organisers and officials.

Bobby Fischer was a great chess player.

I agree Bobby was great, madness aside he is best to come out of USA its sad that USA has never had a player stand out for the mantle since Bobby and there seems nobody coming through, Hikaru is too old, Caruana as never had that impact and Hans Niemann is unlikely to compete in the 2027 candidates, WHY: he pulls out of more tournaments than he enters so unlikely to accrue enough points to be able to challenge. Only chance seems to be Dig up Bobby and plug in a AI-Bot plugged into his games databases Lolaughes 😉😆

I think Fischer stopped playing competitive chess because of the stress & also he couldn't get conditions he wanted & deserved.

I prefer Mikhail tal and rashid The greatest attackers of chess the Reason why brilliant moves exist

I would admire Fischer if he wasn't such a malignant hominid. My chess hero is Adolf Anderssen, who stands in direct contrast, in every way, both as person and a competitor, to Robert Fischer. As a person, Anderssen is remembered as Heroic, Fischer, as garbage
