I just played Laura who is rated 1100 … after the game and review, it showed she played at 1900 and I believe it.
I’ll just play away and compete at the level I can.
Thanks for the comments All.

Laura is strong. I didn't play Laura much. I played the 1000 ranked elo Maria she was my ultimate challenge. I still think about her. I actually visited a uscf junior champion profile on here and he was still loosing to her. He's a 1600 lol. Good luck 👍

My Chess.com Rating is about 1200. I have steadily played the Bots from the lowest and worked my way upward to the highest Rating with which I could keep winning. Finally ran into not consistently winning with some of the Bots starting at 1600. Was able to knock out Joel (1600); however, Isabel (1600) has repeatedly crushed me.

I’m not referring to my rating. I play a Bot that shows a 1200 rating and after a game, the review will say the Bot played well above the 1200 … maybe 1700.

Before, I used to play a Bot and there would be variance so a 1200 Bot might play between say 800 - 1600 … it would vary from game to game.

I hope I’m clarifying myself. Maybe I’m missing something but thank you for your response.

It’s a very inaccurate and vague rating which shouldn’t get much attention.

Maybe the rating inflation they try to inflict users with in the analysis is bugging out and carrying over to bots. Or maybe inflating the “played at” rating also boosts engagement; if you win it says you beat a way higher elo so you are thrilled and if you loose you can tell your self you didn’t actually loose to a 1000 elo bot because analysis shows it played at a 1500 rating.

Try and play very poorly against the bot and when they win, see if their played at analysis is still above the advertised elo. Maybe the better you play against the bot you are giving it the opportunity to play more advanced or fight back harder, ergo higher analysis rating

I played black against Oliver 550 rating. i threw the game like you suggested and Olive’s rating after was 2000.

Then i played Oliver again with white and tried to win which i did but it was a struggle. His rating was 1500.

I have screen shots but can’t seem to post them. I can paste text but much of the info is garbled up.

I can’t find anyway to comment to chess.com. If you know a way to do this, can you kindly pass that along?

Anyhow, i think I’ve carried on enough, lol.

Thanks again everyone for your comments and i wish you well against your next opponent!

An observation that I'd offer in addition to my above 'Bots Experiences post' is that when I activate the Settings for Move suggestion &/or I listen to the Reviews ... for me (maybe I am wrong, cause I am only a 1200 or so Rated Player), but I feel an obligation to report to y'all that about 20% of the Chess.com Move suggestions (i.e., the 'arrows' : ) & post game Reviews Move opinions are simply patently wrong by anyone's measure.

So then why do I play the Bots?  Answer: Cause (1) I have found adequate consistency in the Bot Ratings levels (my experience is all Bots up to and including Rating 1600) & (2) The instant gratification of the Bots' next Move given the aforementioned consistency, thus time conveniently helping me improve my Chess playing ability.

Since you don’t have a rating, gamereview automatically has very high expectations. Let me play a game against the bot.

I played some games. I played some bad, okay and good ones intentionally to show you. You can review them if you want.

I share your frustration. When I choose to play a 1850 bot, I'd expect it to play the game around that rating, but instead, several games in a row of this:

try that one

1500 for a 1300 bot this game. I'd understand if this occured once in a while, but when it happens almost every game, it gets annoying.

Joe do you post a screen shot?

I try to copy and paste but no luck. It will only paste garbled text.

the funny thing about your posts is your also overperforming your own rating. Your only rating in your profile is 1200 yet you performed 2000 and 1800, in the second screenshot you literally performed 300 better.
Lmao

I can try.

I intentionally played bad and look what happens to the "Ratings".

Solution: don't play bots. Bots play weirdly, they play 15 moves of Najdorf theory then blunder their queen in one move, for example.
