Joe do you post a screen shot?
I try to copy and paste but no luck. It will only paste garbled text.

Sherm ~ You requested a Screen Copy/Paste.

I use my PC's Screen copy utility that comes with the operating system ...

I share your frustration. When I choose to play a 1850 bot, I'd expect it to play the game around that rating, but instead, several games in a row of this:

the funny thing about your posts is your also overperforming your own rating. Your only rating in your profile is 1200 yet you performed 2000 and 1800, in the second screenshot you literally performed 300 better.
Lmao

ok.

I've noticed this for the past few months. 1000 rated bots always come out above 1500 upon review. That being said, the review is probably inflating my rating as well. I'm not sure if the bots are playing too well or if the rating system is grading too high, but something is off. It is happening to me with every bot game (rating at end of game is +400-+700 higher than the bot's listed rating). I just played a game against the #6 Engine (1000 rating) and it finished with a 1900 against my 1550. I didn't play a 1550 game, so I'm inclined to think the rating analysis is off.

I’m 900 elo and I stand up to 1600 elo bots

I also believe they are rating my play too high as well. I’ve been rated above 2000 after games way too many times. There’s no way I can play at that level.

So I’m just forgetting the whole rating thing and playing away.

I just replayed the #6 (1000 rated) engine. I beat it with a 2200 review rating, and it was rated at 1600 for its play. I definitely don't play at a 2200 level or 1600 level (and it didn't play at a 1600 level)

I would say that a 1000 rated engine on Chess.com much is easier than a 1000 rated engine on Lichess.org.

I'm with you Sherman on all you said. Why? Cause for me playing Bots just above my skill level helps me grow / sharpen my chess playing ability, regardless of how and who is rated with whatever Rating.

I'd say the bots play well below their rating, I can beat every sub 1000 bot, easily, but my elo isn't even 400.

I'm a fairly solid Daily 1200 TheBig and I worked my way playing as Black up to Bots at 1600 before running into much 'resistance,' i.e., Pablo (1600) - not much problem, Joel (1600) - tougher than Pablo, & Isabel (160) I have yet to beat even once tongue ... finally got her to a draw, but she is otherwise c-o-n-s-t-a-n-t-l-y crushing me ... and that is where I wanna be in the hopes that over time I'll improve enough playing against her that I'll start winning.

OK, finally! The bots are playing “normally” now. They are playing in a range that is a bit above, equal or below their rating so there is some reasonable variance from game to game. 👍
