Bug, Cheat, or Something Else?

I just finished a game vs a human opponent.

I moved my black pawn to f5.

My opponent’s pawn at g5 then somehow took that pawn and ended up at f6 in their next move.

I have screenshots of the two moves. I am beyond confused.

Thank you for the reply.

Googling the term has helped me understand the move. In all my time playing chess, I had never heard of the rule. My initial reaction is that it’s not a move/rule I like… too many requirements that overcomplicates an otherwise simple game.

You its a rule most people dont know. I once got yelled at by a 1300 on lichess years ago because I did it and they though I was a hacker lol

Youb get used to it quick. Like castling or pawns moving 2 on their first move. I believe there's lessons on it here.
