Can you guys stop blaming the chess.com mods?

The issue really started in early January. It hasn't been two months.

Completely disabling new premium and/or pausing all premium renewals would take coding work to do. Almost all work being done now is toward stabilizing the site and upgrades and changes to fix things long term. A lot of other suggested changes, by other members, would also take coding work.

Once things are stable and changes are getting implemented to move towards handling the higher loads, I would imagine there will be additional communication on how the site is going to handle everything else. Once it's known exactly how long issues were experienced, then the site will know what makes the most sense and is possible to implement. (this latter part is speculation on my part but makes the most sense to me)

Martin, I think you proved my earlier point. You appear to be a mod, and I can tell by the talking points you just put here, that you too have been lied to. I don't believe any of what you wrote not because I don't believe you, I don't even know you, but the post I read earlier said they started experiencing this enormous growth in December. That means they knew this was inevitable in December. You are being lied to, and for that I'm sorry.

With that said, if you have any sway with those lying liars who are lying to us, could you please have them expedite my refund so I can leave this site and all of us will be happier?

Thanks!

First thing, much of what I've shared and posted is based on what the site has released in addition to being familiar with IT-type issues and projects.

You are correct, there was some growth in December, but it wasn't until early January when the number of games being played daily jumped from around 10 million to over 20 million in a short period of time.  Daily registrations were also increasing. Neither of those things were "talking pointsbut things I could see looking at site stats and I was sharing that information as soon as I started seeing it.

I started sharing the first public information about loads on January 11th as soon as it was realeased when I saw it posted publicly. I did those things on my own to help spread the information (i.e. it was something I was told to do).

Please stop whining about refunds and poor managment because the servers are overloaded. It's annoying, but people are way overreacting. I feel bad for the moderators having to deal with you gremlins.

How's your application for the mod position going?

@Martin again, fully appreciate you're as much as a victim as the rest of us. Grateful for you trying to help but you simply are not able to. You are being lied to like the rest of us. With that said, can you please get me my money? Or do they not give moderators that power either? They seem to be completely unaffected in taking money, just totally ineffective at providing a service. Curious how that goes....

Martin hasn't got the power to direct any refunds.

You played with your diamond subscription for a year and got hundreds of hours of entertainment for your money.   You got into the Legends Club.  Lots of us never made it there. If you weren't happy, all you had to do was cancel before the subscription renewed at the beginning of January.  You didn't do that.

Now, you want to change your mind a month late.   Well, there are probably thousands of people ahead of you in line.  They all have concerns that are as important to them as yours are to you.

Chess.com is trying very hard to fix things that are currently not working.

They are hiring additional support staff.  They are training additional support staff.

In the mean time, I think that you have already been told that the best you can do is to wait for support to answer you.

Why would I have complained and/or cancelled when I was getting what I paid for? I gave them 100 dollars, and they gave me the ability to play chess. I never complained, of course. Now, a couple weeks ago, they take ANOTHER 100 dollars but now I CAN NOT PLAY CHESS. Instead, I CAN LOOK AT 502 SCREENS. I'm not sure how you still don't understand this you stupid motherflucker. You are like next level stupid. I get service, I happy. I no get service, I no happy.

Are you still confused? If so, dude, just go start huffing paint, because you have all the side effects of it already, you may as well enjoy the high.

What's this about?

i was quoting someone

I know it was a quote. How was it relevant within the context of the thread?

Yeah, i guess i could have phrased that better, just stop blaming chess.com for the servers being overloaded.

I don't think it is a reasonable request. They are at fault and they have to own up to it.

it was showing people being jerks about it

There was admittedly a rude response from one chess.com user to another. How does it support your thesis about moderators being harassed?

How exactly is it their fault that the servers are getting overloaded?

It is their servers, so if it is anyone's fault, it is theirs.

Read post #23.

They have?

They can keep repairing servers as long as they want, but auto-resign instead of abortion is just anti-human disrespectful nonsence. Like if lets say in some random irl chess tournament asteroid falls on a building and players with their turn to move get a loss when tournament should be cancelled at all lol. They can have issues with servers of course but don't freaking charge rating loss if some game crashes due to this!! What's the problem with this exactly? You can abort games without charging pts in case of server restart so technically you can hook this case aswell and make exact same workaround in no time

It says:

We love you, we feel you, we are sorry, and we are working as hard as we can to return to stability and provide the best possible experience—today and in the future, when we reach 15 million or even 20 million people playing chess in a day. Chess is incredible, and it's a joy to share this game with all of you.
