Changed from Rapid to Daily

I have recently changed to playing only Daily. My progression was bots only, then Rapid primarily, then Daily/Rapid split, now the latest, after 2-3 years.
I found I was playing too much, about 3 30 minute games a day, worrying about rating, and beginning to feel like it was more stress than fun.
With Daily, usually 2 days, I keep 8 games going. It gives me time to play just about every time I log in. Some games are fast, some slower. If I have a critical multi-option move, I can think about it and sleep on it (I should do this more). Some games are going well and others poorly, so my emotions balance. I’m not a big chatter, but sometimes feel like chatting a bit (usually with an opponent from a country exotic to me) and it’s more comfortable and leisurely than in short games, and doesn’t take the snarky, psy-ops stuff you see in faster games.
Most surprising, I don’t worry about my rating much at all anymore. Can’t say why that is, but playing is fun again . My rating in each format is about the same.
Curious to know if anyone has any experience like this or any comment.
Cheers and Checkmate’em to all!

But you are losing your motivation or training your alter ego. When you play live online it is like playing a real otb match!!

I think darlihysa is right, Daily blunts the competitive edge present in otb or Rapid. But that suits me right now. Plus Daily’s still a competition, just with time stress removed.
Thanks for commenting.

Maybe try 10 min rapid and just a few games a day?
