i saw other post with suggested moves so i thought id add my thoughts
(sorry drawing attention to an alternative ending)
think of it as your opponent winning a draw - give your opponent some respect for the draw and you 'll get over it quicker ;)

I think musicalhair has it quite right - it is invariably the other guy's fault, and a cheap shot if he claims the draw from a losing position. If I do it, (also from a losing position), it is a rather elegant ending to an otherwise quite fine game.
Anyhow...consider the following game...
I'm not saying my opponent did anything wrong or undignified, but I certainly didn't want the draw...yet what choice did I have in this?
3. Kf1 Qf3+
well um...yes, if I can go back 3 steps...then I wouldn't let him draw. I mean after move 3...there was nothing I could do to stop him from drawing...I didn't even have a different move choice. The point is that not always are both players involved in wanting the draw to happen. Sometimes there is no choice left in the matter for one player.
