Chess.com Annoyances

I've only belonged a few months, but have a few irritations about the site. 

#1:  I was writing a chat to an opponent when a BIG RED message popped up telling me to be careful as I was suspected of cheating or foul language.  I followed all the rules and am polite, so I don't have a clue what occurred.  Am I cheating to say good game??

#2:  I had a game suddenly quit, stating I lost.  That was not true.  We still had moves to play.

#3:  My biggest peeve is all those commercials that have suddenly appeared.  I can't click on anything without opening another commercial!  If this keeps up, they WILL hear some foul language!  I've heard Lichess is commercial-free.

You might have used some word from the local black list

A game might quit due to connection loss (the client however may not indicate it)

Where can I find this word black list? I really don't want to insult anybody, and I don't think I did. I need to find out what I did cause I don't want to be blacklisted. Winning doesn't mean THAT much to me.

You mean my opponent may have had a power outage? I certainly did not. And why would I have lost, and not him? This has never happened to me in any chess programs.

I mean the connection between the server and your device could be lost, sometimes it happens here

Thanks. So as I now understand it, because it was my connection to the server, it interpreted me as giving up. I sure wish I delete such games from my record, also those with only 1 move and the guy never responded again.

I agree. That's a major complaint of mine and will eventually drive me away. Lichess is free, has almost all the bells & whistles of Chess.com. I'd just like to take a few friends with me that I enjoy playing.

I played a game with a lower ELO rated opponent. I won, but my ELO remained totally unchanged from the game before.

Why?

Because it was an unrated game.

You have a diamond membership. You shouldn't be seeing any ads other that chess.com announcements and promotions for things like the Candidates.

Thank you, Justbefair! I totally forgot to check to see that. I always play rated games, so I thought everybody else did, too. It was a bad assumption, so u know what that makes me. You're ok. :-)

examples of ads:

1. I click on Forums/Chess.com Annoyances and a 2nd tab opens for Dating Seniors.

2. Click main screen/Lessons/Openings/London Opening, another active tab for Amazon appears.

3. Open an ongoing game, 2nd active tab Futuristic Comfort recliner ad opens also.

4. OPen Forums, choose a remark, select reply/quote - a 2nd tab for Browse Singles ad appears.

I don't think any of those have anything to do with chess. Once off the main screen, almost every click opens another tab in addition to the clicked selection.

To Chess.com, should they read this: I didn't come here to be bothered with stupid ads that have nothing to do with the game. I haven't seen a single ad for Chess.com announcements or promotions. Get rid of the crap at membership level or get rid of me and return the membership fee for the aggravation you cause.

It probably shouldn't even be happening without membership. Looks more like the OP got some adware on the computer.

What now you want to control people's lives? You can't force someone to replay you, you really must be joking! Banned? Nah. Your additional tabs popping open is not this website. You've been infiltrated and it's nothing to do with Chess.com.
