It's best not to abort. Whenever I accidently fumbleclick start a game. I play it through. It's happened twice. Aborting is not good sportsmanship.

Perhaps you did not understand. If Chess.com has it in their settings to give players to assign rating ranges of outgoing challenges, assigning opponents outside this specified and exact rating range is disrespectful to the player. Aborting these games has nothing to do with sportsmanship when the Chess.com pairing system is actively breaking its own rules.
I would not be surprised if the pairing system does other behaviour like this, but the developers of Chess.com actively try to hide this.

but this forum will get locked if we talk about this!! How about we all make a club together and make sure that rating is fair?
I only get my rating range or above I like playing against tough opponents sometimes servers glitch it hasn't happened recently for me
Perhaps, after a period of time, the computer gives up trying/waiting to find an opponent in the selected range and provides the next closest player?
How long are you prepared to wait for a game, that meets your criteria?

If they're rated 200 elo below you, you should win easily, right ?
Or maybe you're scared because you're not rated correctly and fear losing your rating ??
xD just play man, no matter who plays you.

That's not how elo works lower rates players are hard to beat
That's exactly how elo works. Lower rated players should not be harder to beat. If they are, you're overrated.

no it's not that it isn't good sportsmanship. Sometimes you do not have the time to play. When I get a player with low rating, I abort. Aborting won't do any harm
Actually thats insulting+bad spoetmanship to the lower rated player just play it out if you loose oh well move on I understand not having time to play tho

Exactly. The only problem is if you do it too many times, your account gets suspended. But if you only do it once in while it doesn't do anything.
