Most people start at 1200. Perhaps you met one of the stronger ones.

It happens.

Yes, perhaps Spassky just joined the site, and you happened to be matched up against him. How lucky!

I understand that even the best of loses or goes through a losing streak I’ve been on chess. Com almost ten years. Something is wrong

In the old ages there were cybercafe and the cafe account. Playing against the cafe account you could get the seven years old son of the cafe owner, the basic amateur - his father -, a strong player with time to burn or even an half drunk master. The cafe account rating was the average of them all.

Chess.com bans cafe accounts.  They're partial to tea.

I checked couple of your recent losses, and in both of them you gave away a free piece, and in another you fell for a mate in one soon after. The 1200s are good enough to pick up free material, if it's there for the taking, don't need a Spassky for that. Based on what I saw, it was the typical 1200s play that I've done a lot not long ago. So no changes there.

Have you ever considered playing a longer time control than 3 minutes? I see you have over 20 000 games played, but you're still giving away free material. All it tells to me is that you don't have enough time to check your moves, and you play merely on intuition. And with 20 000 speed games, you've probably picked up quite a few bad habits, you never took the time to fix. It's understandable, that having 20 000 games and almost 10 years of play time, you'd expect to crush 1200s easily. Chess just doesn't work that way. You have to analyze your games, give yourself more time to make the moves and slowly, one by one, fix the mistakes in your play. Otherwise you'll keep doing them again and again, and 1200s will remain Spasskys until the end of time.

I know a person who goes by the name [name removed] cheats by playing on his iPad and uses his computer simultaneously to cheat unfortunately there are people on here like that

Sometimes when that happens, the person who suspects it just isn't very good. Usually the suspected person isn't very good either. What ends up happening is a terrible player who makes terrible moves ends up beating an even worse player making even worse moves. I've had terrible losses against 1200 players. That's what happens when I make bad moves and they dont. I think the best solution, if you suspect something, is to have the chess.com staff look into it. They are a lot better qualified to make an assessment of a particular person than any of us here.

Its the account the owner of the cafe has to play chess online. If you want to play chess online you open the software and it activates the account.

I’m back to winning some and losing some. The difference between yesterday and today is massive. I’m beating the usual suspects and having great competition with good players. As I said I’ve been around awhile at chess.com and I don’t cry when I lose but I know when the fix is in. Thanks for the support community. I’m back to taking on all comers regardless of ranking.
