Out of curiosity, does the USCF norm-based Candidate Master qualify for being listed as a CM? (I have neither this nor the FIDE one)

I've seen a few threads about this, but most are either outdated, or the posters thought everyone 2000+ USCF is a CM.

Nope definitely not since there is no certificate.

Why does that mean it's not recognized?

(don't know what you mean by certificate, but it says pretty plainly on anyone's USCF page)

U get a physical certificate for every other title recognized. Also, I've never seen anyone with only uscf cm recognized. Redchessman had a thread on this a few years back that I saw...

Never mind; I just realized on the page it explicitly says "FIDE candidate master." Just thought I saw someone that was a USCF CM but not FIDE CM once :P
