oh oh oh aaaaaaand, also when you play online chess, i reckon all the games where the people are ONLINE should be at the top of the "on going games" thingy, "current chess" i think. k.

I would like some crazyhouse games.

For the rating displayed in the forums when you hover over someone's name to be the highest out of all 6 on the site (quick, blitz, slow, turn-based, chess960 and Tactics Trainer), not just from the four currently used.

I think that would be a great change, if you had the time.

Thanks!

For Correspondence Chess, this would also be a nice-to-have feature - as discussed here ...

I wish future wishlists would be broken out into a small number of separate wishlists covering distinct areas e.g.

  • Live Chess
  • 960 and other Variants
  • Tools (Chess Mentor, Tactics Trainer, Analysis Board, Conditional Moves, ...)
{This is a meta-wish.}

May I suggest that a minimum time per move option be incorporated? No less than 1 day, etc...

what about support for Firefox built-in dictionary? it can reduce a lot of spelling errors in the forums (and save me a lot of awkward moments :P)

I'd like to be able to search for comments by my favorite posters without having to resort to Google.  I can track them, of course, but that only shows the threads they start.  Many times it's the seemingly offhand comment of a well-informed poster in someone else's thread that contains the missing piece of the puzzle for me.

Nice idea, if it was possible!!

Surely it's possible.  I'd also like to see more refined searches such as ones limited to "Topic's I've Posted In" and "Current Thread" etc.

That way I could do things like look up the suggestion I had earlier in this thread where similar existing threads were recommended when a new one was being created (based on tags) and quote it while mentioning that I found the previously elusive interface on Chess.com that already does exactly this:  Report Abuse.  As it stands, I don't feel like perusing 34 pages of history so I'll have to trust that those that saw my comment know what I'm talking about....

oh, id like to be able to search for exact openings. the opening book only allows key words. which makes it hard to find a certain variation.

My friend and I like to play correspondence (i.e., turn-based) games against each other but our ratings are different by more than 400. Is there a way to play turn-based games that aren't rated?

Hey look I just figured out how to use the "Advanced Options" feature when creating a game to select "unrated". Yay!

In the chess960 game as it now called, the normal chess game variant as recognized by the FIDE and the USCF must be removed from the 960 combinations that we can play  here at chess.com.

Otherwise what is the point in playing a normal game??

Chess 960 is chess 959 or chess 958+1 and never in his mind did Bobby Fisher intented to include the normal or regular chess game variant.

So do me a favor and the rest of the world and  play the 960 variation and do exclude the normal game.

Everywhere in the world, chess960 includes the classic chess starting position. It's easy to start a classic game by mistake when you intend to start a 960 game. Fortunately, there's a little marker Chess960 960 Game to remind you when you are playing a 960 game.

I'd like to suggest that the games archive have the option of sorting by games won, lost and drawn.

Print Board Command

(My apologies if this has already been suggested. To be quite honest, I'm just too lazy to read through 35 pages of posts.)

There are times when I would like to print the current board position and carry it with me on my daily travels (I'm a salesperson) so I can study it in more detail and decide which game-losing move I wanna make next. It would be nice to have a single tag that I can click to print a very simple depiction of the board in B&W (e.g. "print-friendly" version).

I can use the File > Print... command, but for some reason, the squares never print. I just get a giant solid white board with pieces on it. Then I have to go back and sketch-in the lines. And sometimes it prints two pages instead of one and it includes the color which is unecessary.

Just a thought. The site rocks.
