Chess.com is the greatest website in the world!

I know that I've been a frequent critic of this website pretty much ever since I joined, but last night I had an epiphany, and I realized that there are so many great things about this website that I'm just not appreciating. So, to take the first step in remedying that oversight, I'd like to acknowledge some of the things that I love of about this site:

The staff and moderators that run this place are extremely wise and helpful. They do a great job of facilitating discussion on the forums, particularly of controversial topics such as politics, religion, and the lack of cheating on chess.com. They are ever wary not to overstep the bounds of their authority, never locking/deleting a thread or muting/banning a member without good reason. Under their oversight, the community that has developed on this site is vibrant and creative - as can be seen from the wide range of threads on a host of intriguing topics that appear every day on the forums - and intellectual yet always humble. Moreover, everyone here is extremely nice, especially toward me. Every person that I have come across appreciates the contributions that I make to the chess.com forums, and no one says mean things like "You're a tryhard," or "You and your stupid followers are polluting the forums with trash," or "You are mentally challenged," or "You are never going to be as good as Kaynight." I thank the chess.com community for its unanimous support, and promise that in the future I will continue to create content that will be enjoyed by everyone.

What I like more than anyting else about this place, though, is how the staff continue to look for ways to make it better even when it is already so good. Their dedication is apparent in their unswerving effort to introduce V3, by which they will improve the site by completely changing its interface and getting rid of unnecessary features such as photo albums and view counts for forum threads. I trust that I speak for the entire chess.com community when I say that I eagerly await the day when the new version is implemented, and will rejoice when the time finally comes, for I will be honored to have witnessed one of the most beautiful and monumental changes of my lifetime.

So, these are some of the things that I love about this place, but up to this point have neglected to acknowledge for far too long. From now on I will be more appreciative of this great website, which I now realize is possibly the greatest website in the world, and I am making this statement now in order to remind myself not to relapse into my old ways in the future.

Sincerely,

Macer75

Very true, very true, this monologue brought me to tears.

I wonder why you put the date at the end. Hmm....

I'm not sure what to say, except that your epiphany will be over by the time I post this comment and you will be back to criticizing chess.com once again.

And I like the April Fool's reference as well.

April Fool's prank. Now just say that you're muted and life is fun!

I need tips on how to be a troll.

No offense taken. Constructive criticism is the best way to learn.

But seriously. Anybody have any good April Fool's jokes?

I completely agree with macer, writer of always insightful and relevant threads. I love those moments when people remind me of how great this site is. I specially like when somebody in live chess calls me [Inappropriate language-removed].

However, this chess paradise may not last for a long time: https://www.chess.com/forum/view/community/rise-and-fall-of-chesscom
