20 bitcoins? Isn't that like four grand? Jesus man.
Chess.com users should be REQUIRED to use REAL NAMES.

Sorry you got scammed, and it's unfortunate that I have to take this position but no matter what a person says on the Internet, never NEVER send them money.

Over the past few months I have been having an on going conversations with several people from southeast Asia. There attention was kind and fun at first, I welcomed the friendly banter and looked forward to seeing their messages in my inbox. Over a period of weeks and hundreds of messages we got to know each other quite well. As a fairly well off individual myself when one began to discuss some personal family problems I happily agreed to help them a little financially. I guess they saw me for the sucker I was and over a few months I wound up sending over 20 bitcoins to in total to three different individuals. Only now I realize when I was left standing at Boryspil airport waiting for one of my friends to come visit on a plane ticket that I had paid for that I have been scammed! I meet these “ladies” on chess.com and I think we need a policy here that forces people to be under their true legal name. This would prevent the sort of fake people I have been dealing with from existing and keep the out of control children in line and perhaps we could report them to their parents. We need a “VERIFIED” tag next to user names like Twitter so we know who we can trust and their true ages and locations. Anonymity of the internet is horrible. Send no one bitcoins! Keep the children here responsible.
Your are responsible for your action, you made the choice to give out the money.

I know a lady that met a contractor online who happened to be working in Egypt. They spent some time getting to know one another. Finally, ol' boy finished his project in Egypt and was coming back to the states. They were going to get married, and he was going to buy her a new car. There was only one hitch in his plan - his money was in a bank in England, and he couldn't get to it from Egypt. No problem - she sends him some money. He hit another snag - she sent more money. This went on for awhile, and $2,000 later, she finally decided it was a scam.

Quite so.

Btw this thread could be a fake too.
We've been scammed! Or trolled?
or both ?

There we were, 2 against 100 And not 1 bitcoin in sight
It was a dark and stormy night when the battle started. And what a bloody battle it was. 1st they surrounded us. Then we surrounded them. But when the sun came up we won
They we're the toughest 2 we ever fought!

There was one guy on the site who sold fake Rolex watches. He used his real name. It didn't solve the problem.

"I met these "ladies" on chess.com" " when I was left standing at Boryspil airport waiting for one of my friends to come visit on a plane ticket that I had paid for".
You tried to buy a bride didn't you?
ahahahahahahahahahahaahah

Everyone should just promise not to lie and call it good.
Btw, its not only you guys that get scammed, we do, too. I started playing some games a few years back with what i thought was another woman and ended up liking her quite a bit! She started off asking me questions about my life and then started asking me personal details that seemed too intimate and made me uncomfortable.
I got really suspicious when she didnt want a great recipe for chocoloate chip cookies that are just like Mrs Fields and confronted her. You guessed it, it was a guy posing as a woman! At least i got to keep my recipe a secret.

I'm gonna do the OP a favor since I'm the only one in this thread that's trying to help him. I forwarded post #1 to the Cyber Crimes Unit of the FBI.gov They told me they'd be in touch with you in a couple of days. Don't worry buddy, we're gonna get those bastards
