And about using our real names .......

Keep the children here responsible.

Don't use chess.com as an outlet for 'hooking up' with people. Don't share personal information with people you don't know in real life and there is no need to. -end-

Non-anonymity is clearly the solution here: if they knew your real name and address, then half of asia and africa could send you begging letters.

If we had to reveal our real names then the membership count on chess.com would hit 14 million in a week.
And the newcomers would all be stalkers, beggers, thiefs, ect.

Money cannot buy companionship, unless you have so much money that you can afford to keep buying it forever.
Few grand? Lucky you. Could have been homeless, stranded in Thailand, 400k deep because you sold your house trying to "find love and build a new life" there. That actually happens.
Sent them cash for a plane ticket? LOL. Let me guess: which one of "her" family members had cancer this time? Oldest scam in the book. If you really care about them, send them fruit baskets from 1-800-flowers. If they quit talking to you because you only send them fruit baskets then it should be pretty clear.
Pro tip: If you wanna meet people online, you should go to them. Plan on being stood up. Plan on them not being who they actually say they are. Plan on going golfing; gambling; and "grazing" instead. You will have a good time regardless, and you cannot ever be "scammed" or left "heart broken".
