I bet it will be a journalist doing a report on the rise of a new chess website, inadvertently becoming the one millionth member.

that means that we only need 7908 people left to join and if on average we were getting 2125 people join each day then ( this is not a guess and am i correct in thinking that people can't cast votes) only a few more days left

     Erik did, but someone pointed out that staff had an unfair advantage, so he removed his 'guess'.

No, he didn't write the time still. Just the day.

That's unfair. It means his chances are the biggest of all. I have the same day as him, but even if I mistake by a few minutes Erik will win!

Actually without claiming an hour block of time, a guess of an entire day should be too vague to qualify.

    as the OP, it is your "pool" and you can determine whether a day is adequate or a specific hour.

that is your right as the person who set the "rules" for this.

   You can even declare ties for winner.
