Thread Resurrection

Of course, we all know that this thread will have to be bumped at least every ten years until the end of time...

I've never had a problem with legitimate bumps, as you described. Not all bumping conforms to this, though . Sometimes bumping is used to harass other posters, sometimes it is used to clear the front page of "most recent" posts, sometimes it is used to try to re-ignite a previous troll thread, where somebody is deriving their self worth from how many posts their pet thread has got, and so they bump their thread each time they start a new sockpuppet account...etc.

Legit Thread Bump...
I Googled "Thread Resurrection" and this was 4th on the list. Didn't see anything using "bump".
Any new advice for bumping threads legitimately?
I most often find old threads when I'm searching a specific historic chess game and there was a discussion thread about it here.
