The computer now comes with 3D pieces and smoother and, perhaps slightly, stronger playing strength, IMHO. The 2000 computer is consistently beating me in the endgame in G/2 Blitz. If you ever wondered what it's like challenging the Game Explorer to a game, this is definitely for you! The fact that it records your game for you is a huge bonus that I whole-heartedly appreciate.

I guess the only drawbacks are that you cannot choose the size of the board and color of the board. Although, really, if you care about these things, then well . . .

The new computer is great. Go check out the 800 rating woodshover! You will win!

Everytime I try to play at all, I get an error report.

Seriously, this thread was hilarious. Some people are funny even when they aren't trying to be... Anyway, there may be some bugs we are trying to fix with our "Play Against the Computer" -- just so everyone knows. The thread wasn't a complete waste of time...

Otherwise, don't bother telling me how my post looks. I don't usually check back once I post :)

Ok, this actually made me laugh to myself on the computer.

I'm finally able to play it now, that I don't get an error report every time I try. I can't see all of the board at once, but hopefully they will fix that. Even though I DO beat it set at 800, it still drives home the inescapable fact I don't know how to play chess.

Well, if you actually try to play chess against human beings, rather than being at a chess site lamenting that you can't play, you may get pretty good at the game, woodshover!

you're supporting the non-human agenda.

You won´t win any prices, playing the computer. Playing chess is usually playing OTB chess

(Or is it prizes? I dunno)

I won't have to worry about winning any prizes anytime soon anyway.

Nothing wrong with challenging the computer. If you can motivate yourself to challenge a robot, then it's very good practice, as you can almost always specific opponents, i.e. one that plays a 100-200 points lower than you, one that makes about equal to you, and one that plays 100-200 points above you.

If I have the time and patience in the coming weeks, it would probably be a good exercise for me to sit down for an hour, and beat the Hard computer while timing myself at G/60 or 1-2 minutes/move.

Why is this thread sticked??
