biting tongue on responses. ;)

working to fix it so everyone will be happy.

Glad to hear it, but why bite your tongue?  If you feel you have an argument to make, why not make it?  And if you really feel it'd be better not to, why hide behind this dismissing non-response?

i'm holding my response because people tend to over-scrutinize what i say. so my opinions aren't viewed as personal opinions (which they are), but as some kind of official chess.com doctrine or something? i mean, i gave my opinion above and i'm told i act like a high school boy. i agree that i should be allowed to have opinions, and to argue them, but people hold me (fairly, or unfairly, i don't know) to a different standard. so even if i politely disagree... it doesn't matter. it' hard to try to please everyone, but also be myself. :)

Ah, good point.  Well, my apologies for being too questioning, then.

thank you Erik.  I think that's all I really wanted.

i seem to remember a few other things you wanted too Afaf--attention being top of the list.  now if you could just get that bloody goat restored!

You don't know what I want so pipe down.  If attention was the point, I'd have not made a non thread effort to have this resolved.  That I included other things that irritated me along with this location issue is not in any way related to "attention".  Are you a maniac?  You completely missed the move.

It's clear I had an agenda...which you did nothing for other than to fill meaningless space with your typical inane accusations.  Perhaps you've been working at your job too long...there are things outside of "attention seeking" motives.

What a friendly thread :D. I guess the location isnt that big of a deal if they are using ip's, because it is usually your isps location which is far away , unless you live in a small town

I am always bothered with unnecessary censorship.  I put a picture of my cleavage on my profile and it got removed because, I guess, someone was offended.  It seems to me that most sites are like this because most people have to be told what to think and when every so often a person who thinks for himself/herself comes along they are looked upon with suspicion.  I hope you get the results you are looking for because you seem to be very intelligent and rational and so what if you like attention...I think that could be said for a lot of us.  I know I like attention.  What's the problem with liking attention?

The only problem I see is when the majority of the poster's material is geared toward a negative line and I don't see your concerns as negative or invalid.

flags...as much as you think you make sense...you're floundering.

The apple sauce story was to validate Bigpoison's belief that some of us really don't know from where our goods come.  I included it publicly to keep the thread light-hearted.  You really have a skewed perception of my personality.  No matter, I'm not too impressed with you either no matter what Prawn says in your favor so we can chalk it up to a lack of personal chemistry.

DPenn, you are a doll.  Ironically I'm a bit uptight about cleavage and female body parts, but I suppose in your own album you can include what you want.  I'm actually ok with making the goat sac as a private image...I can imagine some people feeling creeped out and while it was my intention to share something culturally interesting, I am not out to be offensive.

Without having read through eight-plus pages of this I did want to weigh in on the location publication issue.  I don't think it's just a matter of personal preference -- here in Canada I think it may well be in violation of our privacy laws.  Facebook, and more recently Google, have both been taken to task for this type of thing here and have been forced to acquiesce.

I didn't realize it was made public and I'm glad to see it's going to be addressed.  Something as simple as an optional means to suppress it via your privacy settings should you so desire.  I'd love the ability to do the same with my online status (as has been discussed at length in previous threads).

Flags aren't for everybody.

I am ambivilant about ilikeflags.  I want to like him but he seems a little bitter and hateful.  He can be funny though.  Prawneatsprawn seems to be someone I could get along with.  My current favorite poster is AfafBouardi :)

I enjoy the world-weary cynic thing flags does, and I respect the psychic pain he endures to post anything longer than 5 words at a time (see #162 above).

Afaf on the other side of the coin has all the energy in the world and can post a novelette probably. I like her not least for her willingness to enjoy herself.

If they were my kids I'd be wondering who the other father was.

All these pages, and I don't know what the big deal is. Goat meat is tasty.

Avatar of Writch

I wonder if Afaf would have been banned from Goats.com for making death threats to the "kids"?

After all, it's not a totally empty threat seeing as how she could easily find out where they were by looking them up on the map, then asking around the town for the chess-playing goats.

Poor dears.

p.s. yes, I know there is a goats.com and I've been a big fan for years.

Just a minor diversion back to one of my earlier questions-- I'm not too concerned about why my location balloon shows up almost 300 miles away and in a different state than my true location, but why can't I see it?  I don't see any marker where a couple of you told me you saw mine (between Green Bay and Sturgeon Bay).  Or does everyone not see their own marker on their own logged in map?

Hey wait a minute, I'm not showing up in my mirror, either . . .

I saw that inquiry and I tend to agree.  A goat (well, more than one -- they really are tasty) had to die in my mission to eat one of every ungulate.

I'll apologize in advance to any whale lovers out there.

If we're all done talking about beheaded goats, pig-headed posts and de-threaded ghosts... is it OK for me to leave? I need to see a man about a horse.

Avatar of blackfirestorm

OK me and my friend have just been checking on this interactive map thing and it actually shows my location as being over 25 miles away from my actual location where I am sitting right now?!

Yeah, Happened to me too I think Erik said once before that IP addresses (Computer thing) or something aren't always on the accurate side, Depends on how Google wants to do it :O

I'm apparently in a local cemetery right now.

I'm confused; Are we talking about goats or dears?  Either way, I personally prefer chicken, cow and pig.

That's what the word "grob" would suggest in some Slavic languages.

Took me a minute.  lol. The way you look at everything is wildly creative. I find myself shaking my head and chuckling at the same time.
