I doubt that's the case, but Erik sure did give him a lot of attention for a forum troll.
Conspiracy?
Your a little off; some trools found a web site recently that gives them access to sites from yrs ago. Unfortunately, this also gives them access to all the banned members, locked accounts, deleted threads, and banned accounts for cheating. The're now trying to impersonate these people with new accounts.

That's werid... I haven't seen that happening, though I am the "trool" who found the old daeth thread...

Or maybe it wasn't originally but maybe they struck a deal midway though...
This guy left chess.com long before I created my account, but I've seen some of his threads before, and based on those threads, he was one of the best trolls in chess.com history, if not the best. And that's coming from the self-proclaimed troll god/ greatest currently active chess.com troll!
Didn't he say that he used chess.com just to test his own engine? And then the engine blundered a piece?
This guy was a riot. I wonder if he was for real... Some of his posts were outrageous though... We may never know...
yay I"m his friend
How did you become his friend? I thought his account was closed???
yay I"m his friend
It's cool you know how to do this stuff, but it'll get you banned. Fair heads up.
Hey Chess.com Community!
If you're an older memeber, (or like me and was rummeging around in some older chess.com stuff, you may remeber this guy: http://www.chess.com/members/view/cheater_1
If you have some time on your hands this guys story is a great place to spend it.
Now, I've always been skeptical about the whole situtation! One thing to note, whatever the case may be, this dude generated some serious chess.com traffic. (Me personally spending lots of time just reading his stuff)
In fact, he generated so much upheavel, that I'm willing to give some credit to this theory:
"cheater_1, and all his legacy, was a pre-conceived plot devised by chess.com to draw attention to cheating and provide entertainment."
Call me crazy, but the founder of the site, erik, never gave anyone NEAR as much attention as this guy. I mean erick went all out on this guy. He even let him play a vote chess against the ENTIRE chess.com community! http://www.chess.com/votechess/game?id=7623
What say ya?! Am I way off?
