Sounds luverly to me..
Debate: What to call "Online Chess"...

turn-based is no better than online: wholly innocuous
Why would you want it to be innocuous?
What part of "no better" do you misunderstand? The phrase expresses derision, not approbation.

I know, which is why I wondered why you would follow it with "wholly innocuous." Which pretty much means completely harmless or inoffensive.

It's the wrong way to run a voting system Sooner.
Continuously adding names... should collect all the names first and then start a forum asking for votes.. I assume everyone can only vote once? If so what if a new name is added that someone likes better than the name they already voted for?

numbnut chess
This epithet would seem to be more appropriate for LiveChess - since in that style of play, you have to complete the game within a single session. In Sensitive (or Sensible) Nuts Chess, by contrast, you can take long breaks, thereby keeping your nuts fresh.

No...no... You have the wrong definition. Numb nuts is someone whose thinking process is like this: "Duh...duh..." and they need up to three days to make a move. But, only after consulting a database and running it through all the possible permutations on an analysis board.
Can you imagine what it would be like to be married to such a numb nut?

Missing point also. Chess not a contest of ''speed''. Live or blitz, rapid & bullet are not real chess. They are chess-variant practices for training & fun.
Correspondence chess was real chess. It's history very noble indeed. Was fatally-injured by the small-minded & computer-cheats...

No, you are missing my point. Let me clarify...then I'm gonna duck for cover (numbnut outrage...incoming!).
Not talking about time constraints. Have to consult a database or analysis board while playing? Yes. Numbnuts.
Very simple concept.

I Think Telechess is a good name as its called in Chess Base Magazine
All the problems of Correspondence chess with virtually none of the existing name recognition.
Incidentally, I was thinking about the correspondence thing (and the comments about news correspondence). Another good (perhaps even better) analogy is Internet Radio. There's nothing radio about it -- it's all wires, but it's still called radio because people understand that better.
The word has transcended it's literal meaning and that's OK.
Gorgeous chess? That might work too.
