Another "old fashioned" idea that my father (who will be 80 next week) and I were discussing at lunch today: "right the first time".
There's nothing wrong with old fashioned, especially when half of the the alleged chess teachers on this site cannot produce a single clear sentence.

Why not just call it Online Chess? End of.
Because every single type of chess offered by chess.com could be referred to as online chess. It's ambiguous. End of.

I would have no problem calling it Nimoy Chess. Though, 3D chess might be more fittingly called Nimoy chess.

This forum has been out for 3 years... I doubt they're ever going to change the name.
Technically speaking, all chess played on chess.com is on line chess.
Technical chess works for me.
The name has been changed to "Daily Chess." It's a stupid name. But, as H. Nakamura likes to say, "it is what it is."
It's a mile better than "Online Chess," but still incredibly stupid to invent a new name for it.
When I hover the cursor over "PLAY" the box drops down and it still calls it "Online Chess"
