Anytime chess could mean anything. Live chess is anytime chess; you can play it whenever you want

Because in other forms there's no moving or waiting?

That strikes me as the worst choice.

Nothing wrong with anytime-chess. Means the game is there to play or leave whenever you want (within game-settings of course 3-day, 5-day, 7-day...)

Correspondence chess has a long and dignified history. Some folks don't like tradition, so they invent something new that doesn't work.

There's a saying in my culture (rural, western, Euro-American): if it ain't broke, don't fix it." That's how it was with correspondence chess, or to be more precise server based correspondence chess, before this site invented a new name, online chess.

When I tell folks about one of my online games on this site I usually need to explain that it's a form of correspondence chess that has an unusual name on this site. Then, they usually get it.

A good name doesn't need to be explained to a chess player who is already familiar with different sorts of chess. There is exactly one name for what I play here that I do not need to explain to these many chess playing friends.

What about Cadence Chess? Not exactly immediately recognizable to all, but easy enough to look up and versatile enough to fit different situations.
