I think Ding Liren may decide to not play classical chess again, or maybe never, one can understand his lack of motivation after the disaster at the W.C.C who wouldn't want to crawl under the nearest stone, Ding has earned 1.2 Million Dollars in prize money alone so that will hopefully ease his inner demons!??

He was a world champion, he is a world class player, and has made some money playing a game. If he walks away, hes no longer motivated, and has other things to do in life then I wish him well.

Let's be real, he was just a placeholder for title.

He was the world champion. Just because you don't agree with the obvious doesn't mean youre right. But you are entitled to your opinion.

I Don't agree with the opinion of Ding being a placement champion, that's wrong, Ding became Champion by beating the Russian challenger Ian Nepomniachtchi and was a worthy winner, Yes it was shame magnus chose to relinquish the defence of his title and even though he is still at the top it should not Diminish another, any recognition for winning the W.C.C. I think its very sad to see Ding Liren feeling how he is and how its effecting him as a chess player, remember this is a guy who used to be world number 3 and was one of the few in his prime to beat magnus for a Blitz title + he is a real nice guy who gave everything to chess and its sad to think we may not see him again competing at the top!?
