It may be true, but no need to say it only to destroy people's passion and commitment. Don't cut off wings, no matter how small they are.
One of the best quotes of 2024 I'd say.

that's a long way from being a GM.
Yes but he's right that he met FM requirements.
no one ever said he didnt. what is your point?
Maybe you should have qualified your poser statement. But then maybe you weren't saying anything after all.
I was saying that he is posing as a GM level chess player based upon the fact that he has beaten 'tens of GMs' in online blitz. I stand by my statement. Anything to add?
He didn't. He only said it was not unreal for him to reach that level given that he's beaten tens online. He did claim that his book would get one to GM level. That I disagree with.
So I added some and subtracted some. Hope that's ok. If you need me to multiply, just let me know. Shouldn't be a problem for a bunny.
What do you know?
what do you mean?
Have you played at high levels? I haven't but have an idea because I have beat nms otb and 2400+ players online.

Yes. He originally made that claim--first by inferene (post #34) and then directly (post #73). This, of course is utter nonsense. Then he modified his claim by applying "GM level chess skills by himself as "doable." Only its not. Read @bizmark's posts number 103 and 105 (I think) if you want6 to know why. He is nowhere close to being a GM. He is not even in the same ball park. Going from FM to GM is like flying from Saturn to Neptune. You are way closer than Earth but you are still hundreds of thousands of light years away.

If you want to become a GM, buy my course on how to get better in chess. Link in my profile. I think it's doable with the right approach.
Also read books on chess.
"
I didn't say that if you buy my course you will become a GM. I said "I think it's doable" . Which is not the same as "buy my course - you will become a GM". So some people probably need learn to read and understand what they read. Just my 2 cents.
do you also have a book on reading comprehension? i definitely need it
Alternate topic title:
Don't dream learning the English.
make it a book, llama - i'll read it.
english doesn't know me too well.
It's funny i see people planning to study chess and dreaming of becoming GM..
One will have to tell you.. that everyone has an in-born ability, it's almost over once you hit your plateau.. you can only achieve average ratings and with any kind of hard study you can only become A class player max. maybe.. not a master..
eh.. its not even enough to born with it, you will still have to study to get it in your hands.. but without that ability.. dont even bother.
wake up and smell the coffee.. have fun and stop tilting and punching your pc..
i did my part for the community.. you are welcome
don't trust this random 1400... everyone will one day have a copy and pasted gm banner
If its so 'doable', why arent YOU a GM?
I don't have time to play chess in competitions. And I won games against tens of GMs online.

insinuates that it's doable [becoming a GM for young players] because he's won against tens of GMs online.
Personally though, I think that if you're like, 13 and rated 1300, you're probably not getting GM.
Dude, I recently won against a GM in 10 moves. So why would I conclude it's unreal?
- post 77, page 4
Posted to support his claim that it's possible for many young players to become GM, based on his experience. The reasoning probably goes: I beat a GM in ten moves. Ten moves is very short; short games often mean one side dominates the other. Since I dominated a GM in ten moves, I should be able to hold my own against most GMs, therefore supporting my claim that I can play at GM strength.
A week ago I played a game where I blundered mate in five, and then my opponent instantly resigned. It was a stupid thing to do. Does this mean that all people rated 2100 blitz are stupid? Do all 2100s resign here? Does it mean all 2100s make terrible decisions? If my brother, rated 1100, played black here, would a 2100 resign here?
[[[ in response to post 131 ]]]
I mean it depends on what he means by doable. From what I understand, he's referring to young players who are passionate about the game. It's kinda mixed over there. If he's referring to himself, well, it's not out of the question, although his reasoning for it is kinda weird, and I wouldn't put my money on it.

lol it's so easy to brand something you don't wanna hear as a hater or gatekeeper
But on a positive note, I heard his mom was 'doable.'
I mean, that's also quite asinine.

Nope. That's not the right word.

Its NOT "doable." Now shut up and go away.
As you claim on your profile you are old, ugly and smell like cat urine. You are also not very clever. I won't be trying to explain anything to you, it just a loss of time, in this case.
By the way, I qualified for a FM title, and have some other titles - USCF master, Israeli Master of chess.
Two of those titles are not called that.
Valentino is a poser. A wannabee. Just trying to sucker us into buying his course.
