@ Erik Did ever think about putting out a video called "V3 For Dummies"?
Actually, yes. But not calling it that

Hey Erik,
We still need site moderator?
What skills would become a moderator?
MishkaX
Usually the first thing is to not ask
We almost always extend invitations rather than take volunteers... But key is good judgement (which is HARD).
Good night ... like to make a suggestion ...! Players titled to obtain the diamond account send a copy of passport or identity document to confirm your login! As stated before there was a list of accounts closed by cheating! Then because chess.com does not ask the players to send a copy of your passport or identity to be filed on your profile page of all common players? inpediria that bad intentioned people, let the partners friends quietest club against anonymous crooks! all who possess an account here in this great club serian identified with the same name on the account titled players!
Is the NSA or CIA involved in your company? Is Chess.com controlled by a political party?
I'll answer this question seriously even if I'm not sure it's a real question...
No, there is no government or political influence, control, or involvement in Chess.com. It's just a site built by a bunch of normal (or abnormal??) people... http://www.chess.com/about
eric, how do you become staff here? Also what are the requirements?
By invitation!
Good judgement, nice, kind, funny, and filling an open position/need.
hi Erik: I'm having a bunch of trouble with the new fair play policy. Keeps timing me out, when it's not me, it's just system or lag delay. It's maddening as I get benched for 5 minutes every game. (and i'm only playing blitz to start with). head this from others - fixes?

Sorry to hear that! Can you message me privately and I can try to take a look? Tell me about how you are playing (device/browser), internet connection, etc.
What's the deal with David Preuss? Now he's back and you two are buddies again?
Yeah, kinda ![]()
When is my Death Match vs. Mike Klein? :)
You gotta set that up with him. And he's MEAN on the board! I've seen him dismantle many a strong player in blitz...
Do you ever get sick of having to tell people how to spell your name? I do lol
Ha! A brother who knows the pain.... I used to care when I was a kid. Now I don't ![]()
Will pdela ever be a mod? Haha lol.
It could be sooooo much fun if he was.
Edit....I mention pdela and Erik pulled the plug out. lol.
Have you ever seen a UFO? Have you ever experienced "lost time" and think you may have been abducted by aliens when it happened?
On chess.com live chess it seems there is some small delay between moves. Nothing to impact the clocks significantly (that I'm aware of), but for example it seems that even when both sides are premoveing it's not lightening fast. It gives the games a different feel.
Will this delay go away in later versions of the site?
This has been debated 100 times over. There are those who believe that premove should have NO delay, and others who believe it shouldn't even exist. We have settled on a .1 second delay per premove.
What I mean is, I might time a 1|0 game, and in real time it lasts 2 minutes + 10 seconds, and one player has another 10 seconds on their clock. That's 20 seconds of delay.
Sure maybe each player was delayed equally so it makes no difference. But it gives speed games a different feel. I was wonder if whatever causes that can or will be changed. Maybe it's unavoidable with international games or with so many on the server.
I just now clocked a Hikaru - So 1|1 game (viewed on youtube) to have 29 seconds added.
Who would you say is the most famous troll in the history of chess.com? Cheater_1? Lenny Bongcloud? Someone else?
Ha! So many good memories... My favorite was probably Cheater_1 because he was a really interesting writer, and his exit (after losing the vote chess game) was so dramatic!
Ah. The question was answered as I was writing it.
