That's what I'm telling you, you're my problem.

Maybe you don't understand because I'm using things like... words and punctuation, so let me try again:

ur're my Prblm

Ikr that's a little harsh.......my only prblm is the virus and that's a good prblm not a person prblm

If you don't like this go elsewhere. Easy.

if you had followed this at all, you would know that i am playing live games elsewhere due to bots shutting me out of games-and staff not responding to my questions about it.

AlCzervik

another telling thing is what happened after i decided i wouldn't ante up to extend my paid membership. i received two messages asking why. well, i copied this topic as well as giving a short explanation.

as with all other issues-no response.

except messages from the site asking me to pay again. excuse you?

RonaldJosephCote

Al.....for weeks, & months you've been asking Erik to come here & explain.  Check post 5......I think you're gonna get an honest explanation that nobody is gonna like....surprise.png           https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/gift-from-chess-com?newCommentCount=3&page=1

it's  a cheap shot claiming i have an agenda and my mind is made up. if i do have an 'agenda' it is simply seeking answers. much earlier in this topic erik wrote there were good ideas. since then he has abandoned this topic.

explaining oneself does not cost money.

LizardOil

An example of an agenda that is intentionally designed to prevent seeking answers:   "yep, this is to the owner. so that he might get an idea of how some things here piss us off."

AlCzervik

how else would he know, daniel? most everyone else here kisses a$$.

and, there was never the intent (or lack thereof) you describe. i pm'd erik a number of times about this.

It costs time and it certainly costs emotional energy, and in a context where anything you say is only going to lead to further criticism, I'm not surprised when someone finds other things on their probably extensive to-do list more urgent and/or higher priority. Particularly since they're probably working on some capacity issues given the number of people who are in self-isolation and turning to online gaming platforms.

AlCzervik

caedrel, the issues presented in this topic were way before isolation.

and, you assume that explanations would lead to more criticism. you also assume there are priorities more urgent than, for example, members getting shut out of chess games. on a chess site.

My assumptions are founded on everything I've seen you post over an extended period of time, so I'm comfortable that they're accurate grin.png

And the point about isolation is merely that erik would have even less time & inclination at the moment to respond to this discussion post thumbup.png

AlCzervik

yet he had the time to respond to free memberships and chide me in rjc's link...

RonaldJosephCote

Al.....I didn't mean anything by that. This "laying off" came as quite a surprise to me. I don't think its something that should be passed around the site, but it does explain that he has bigger issues on his mind. A lot of small businesses are closing......correction.....scaling back.

sure ron. as i wrote, this topic started well before any isolation. and, the layoff remark by him was strictly in response to giving everyone free memberships. i think you might be interpreting his post thinking he is currently forced to get rid of people (though, i'm sure he'd like to get rid of me some times).

RonaldJosephCote

He can't be happy with Bitcoin.....that's been falling faster than the Dow Jones.

The words "kisses" "adollarsigndollarsign" ( N also adollarsigndollarsign licker in another topics ) annoy me so much. So , because some people ( including Me ) disagree with your opinion, you label us like that,al?

That words is  for people who pretend to look good toward people who have higher position to get somethin in return, so I really offended by that.

Most of my job experience, I often get money offering or bribery, which I ALWAYS refuse.

The reason why most of the time  I defend the site decision toward members is because I wanna thank to this site. This is the fastest site  to play  online chess, although honestly some of the time I also experiencing network problems,, I love this site, that love make me spent my time just to comment to a complaint topics like yours. So, I do mine act because of love, you grumpy!

AlCzervik

kold, the use of the dollar signs is to not get automuted.

if you disagree with me, that's fine. except you did not note that i wrote most. i specifically used that designation after seeing a few duplicate topics of this (at least one by a member that blocked me so i could not respond).

as far as disagreeing with my opinion, i think there might be some things lost in translation (if you are not frenchbasher-pete).

asking "why" is not an opinion.

finally, i do not care how much you love this site. this topic is about SITE ISSUES.

if you are still confused, please go back and read the whole topic. but only if you are not pete.

KoldC45E

No, Im not one of the site staff ( pete is a staff here, right ) nor even interested to be one of them.  BUT from that I can assume that  youre always thinking every act to defend site policy based on work relation. Poor you, you also do not understand what love is. N site issues, maybe  you are the issue, man

ERIK!

to review-only because of how this thread has turned, and your interest in a new topic mentioned by rjc-https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/gift-from-chess-com?newCommentCount=3&page=1

  • i asked why the chess board was suddenly smaller. jdcannon said it was due to new features. he never described them and vacated the topic.
  • i started a tournament where i asked if there was a function to invite friends only. a staff member told me it was a great idea. when i asked if it would be implemented, no response.
  • the topics/posts about limiting consecutive posting received no response from staff. it was put in place and then changed after what appeared to be significant pushback.
  • the confusion about the red banner has never been addressed. even in this topic there are members making assumptions about what will trigger a mute. yet, no one knows. do you, erik?
  • the integration of the 'bad' or 'poor' sport was never explained. how is it possible that a function such as this is put into place and questions on it are ignored?
  • i, and others, were shut out of games with a banner that told us we haven't played enough, and, we are not allowed to challenge titled players. even a titled player got this!
  • i sent in two tickets asking why i could not play live chess. i never received a response.
  • the automutes have gotten out of hand. remember ghost of pushwood? he was muted at one time for writing 'b00bs'. he has had enough and gone to another site. no big deal except he is a titled player that could help many.

drspudnik put forth a good idea for dealing with a post instead of muting where all posts vanish. with all of the new stuff you do-achievements, flair, puzzle rush, i don't think it's far fetched that it could not be done. at the very least, you could respond if it is so.

in post #120 you wrote, "some fair criticisms".

then, in #131 you wrote, "  I think the OP makes some great points. Communicating with our members is a challenge, and we can do better."

that was in october 2019.

in the link i cite you now seem to state i have an agenda. if i have one, it is to make the site better.

everyone allow that to sink in for a few moments. if you do not get it, please do not post.
