yep, this is to the owner. so that he might get an idea of how some things here piss us off.

there have been numerous topics in the past few months about autobots, new "features", and we receive many responses, but never an explanation from a staff member that explains anything. complaints are many, yet you rely on other regular members to explain the workings of the site. the laughable part is that, as you continue to adjust, those regular members aren't aware of new implementations. based on the limited staff responses, it appears they don't know what the hell is going on and sometimes are lackeys for whatever you do.

i have created a few topics about the failures i have seen. they are populated with many others that have concerns. when a response from staff is "it was done for improvements", or, "we are working on it", there is never any follow up.

why is that?

i have sent three tickets dating back 13 days. no response to any.

how is it that concerns are ignored? erik, i'm sure this post could piss you off, but, really, how is it that concerns are ignored?

there are members shut out of live chess because of some stupid bot.

there has been no explanation for the board size shrinking.

there is a red banner that tells us we cannot post three times consecutively. many topics on this, but nothing from staff.

where is the customer service?

Your concerns about what you just wrote seem outstandingly true to a certain degree, but however using bad words such as the (P***) (H***) words are not acceptable!

Unfortunately I must report you, so chess.com can take the right action's.

@B_M_Miller, people have said and will say a lot worse on this site than those words. I've seen people called "grammar nazis", and a lot worse terms that I will not go into. I get it may piss you off happy.png, but unless a word is racially offensive, or it is meant as harassment, there's not really anything that violates the ToS. I see you identify as Christian, so I understand why "hell" is offensive to you. I know this strays a bit into religion, but unless you are taking God's name in vain, there is nothing morally wrong about cussing (PM me if you want to talk more about this) but take social standards into account. Context matters. However, people, should take into account there being kids on the site, and there being social standards, but there's nothing against swearing.

first, i did not "just" write that. it is from a year ago.

personally, i do not care what words you deem unacceptable. you are not required to follow this topic.

second, allow me to help you with reporting. here is the link for you to mention to staff that i have used words that make you cry-https://support.chess.com/article/209-how-do-i-report-someone

i just received this: "Your comment was not posted because you have already posted 5 consecutive messages. Please review our Community Policies." in red banner format. it was in a topic that had 88 new posts.

now the site is going back to this?

i read the email about the new tos just yesterday, and nowhere did it say we are unable to post six consecutive times. this is another fail and an indication of less staff monitoring and more automation.

It's been 5 for a while now, scaled back from 3.

are you sure? there is a member here with topics about this very subject, and i thought the restrictions had been lifted.

either way, it is bs that we are told how many times we can post. a bot that declares spam based on consecutive posts and threatens restrictions doesn't know what spam is.

if monitoring this site is left to the bots, no one will ever know what is allowed or not.

case in point-i was recently muted for writing h o m o sapiens in a PRIVATE message to another adult. this happened to another member about a year ago. he posted publicly about it, but not a damn thing was done to fix the automation. note that i had to include spaces so i wouldn't receive the wrath of the cc bot.

and, when did private messages become subject to the treatment where messages are zapped?

Here's a 3-minute video introducing the issue of this thread.

FYI -- Zuboff taught at  Harvard Business School.  And, if you really want to lose sleep, start reading her 500 page book, published in 2018.  The last sentence of her video sums it all up.

Most of us took the blue pill, instead of the red pill, long ago.  Great thread, Albert.

Thx, learned something today.

Yep, I'm pretty sure it's still 5.  I remember trying to put my 2 cents in about the 3 or 5 in a row "decaying" such that if you were updating a thread weekly or something the site wouldn't stop you after 5 weeks, it would reset after some amount of days.

There's significant abuse done through messages, so it makes sense for the auto-mod to catch the most obvious of it.

Avatar of AlCzervik

martin, i get that, but there are other tools. the recipient of said abuse could simply block the abuser and then message staff, maybe with a copy of the abusive message.

The site has apparently decided not seeing the abuse is better

except, the latest mute of me was no abuse at all. i was pm'ing another adult (i realize there are few here) that i've known for years.

we were, in fact, discussing how to work around the bot.

(by the way, how sad is that?)

in the pm i mentioned that a member was muted for writing h  om o sapien. no abuse whatsoever.
