Explaining Why

Is there a way to know why the computer rates/recommends moves that seem clearly wrong? Some are easy to see that they would have been better but others… For example, sometimes it tells me to sacrifice a piece that doesn’t lead to any benefit in my game, either positionally or numerically etc. and almost always has me down.

I try the ‘show’ feature and it does a selection of moves that are not forced on the opponent and don’t necessarily lead to a better position either way. I would like to be able to ask why those moves are recommended. Is there a way to do that?
