Re: Yelena: unlikely to lose but not impossible...

Sure, it's not impossible for Kasparov to lose either. But seriously, it's very, very, VERY unlikely for Yelena to lose here unless somebody is using a program. Remember, she's an IM. It's much more likely for Jordy to lose a game here than for her to lose.

Hogwash!  Anyone here can lose imo.  I have beaten GMs, IMs and FMs otb and see no reason why they cant lose here too.

What's hogwash? You haven't disagreed with anything in my post.

Add to the wishlist: ability to search for two keywords as described here. That will reduce duplicate questions in the forums and make it easier to find good content.

I've been looking at some of Morphy's games lately, and one thing that struck me (among many) is his use of odds games. Perhaps there could be a feature on chess.com to facilitate odds games?

How about an openings designation and eco code feature?

When you start a new game (turn based) and make a few opening moves, you could have a note somewhere on the screen telling you which opening is being used and its ECO code, for those who are less familiar with the opening names and codes. That way a player could research these openings and learn them. Just a thought :)

Erik, bells, yep, bells or maybe cheers. Fireworks that would be great. You'll understand what I'm on about when you read my last posting as follows - (I talking about little chess guy).

Hey, everybody, I beat him! Hurray, I actually beat him. Huh? What's that you say, Yes I know it was on easy, But I actually beat him. Hurray. First time ever. WOW!!!!. I must admit I was a little disappointed when no whoops or cheers came up at the point of checkmate. Hey Erik, that would be a good suggestion, (and that's why I'm asking you now).

Boy I am happy, I must be learning something at long last. Fandabidosy.Laughing

I'd love to see bughouse implemented on here somehow (for the uninitiated, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bughouse_chess ).  I guess maybe it might make more sense to implement some sort of teams or leagues first though, since you kindof need a partner to play. :-p

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but would it be possible to be able to set a preference for the date format on chess.com?

I appreciate that most chess.com users are from the US, but most other countries use the dd/mm/yy format rather than the mm/dd/yy format.

Thanks!

Some of us the United States have developed a preference for doing things correctly, too (that is, the non-American way).

I'd like to see two improvements:

1. Correct the PGN format this site uses:

The Event tag in the header is required

A space is required after the header

2. Permit conditional moves (these are helpful when mate is imminent, during forcing combinations, and sometimes in the opening).

I'd like a facility to make little notes next to games in my archive so I can note down which openings/defense/endings they show me without having to open each game.
