Yeah same here, had almost exactly the same thing (i had a mate in 2 as well), but when i reconnected after my connection dropped i had 1.2 seconds left in a 30 minute game, while my opponent had ~13min. Fortunately my opponent was nice and resigned, so faith in humanity restored :)
Trouble is they can't pause the timer when people's connections drop as people could 'deliberately' drop their connection to give them a few minutes extra to think about the game...
I'm in the middle of a live 30 minute game now and I'm getting the little spinning square telling me:
How can my connection be interrupted if I'm posting to a forum?
Actually yeah i forgot to mention my internet was still working (i could go on other websites), it was just live chess that had disconnected :/
And now I have no sound again, because of another bug 
Impossible to play blitz chess without sound, as you have to constantly watch your opponent's clock instead of thinking about your next move.
Same thing just happened to me. Seems like the live servers have been choking to death quite a bit...
This website can be so frustrating, I keep on getting cut off lately. Just now, I had 30 seconds left in a 3-minute blitz game and was about to deliver mate in 2, when I was cut off so lost the game :-(
