Hello Chess.com Community!
An exciting announcement (with more details to come - including coverage of the major events on Chess.com/TV) regarding our cooperation with Judit Polgar's Global Chess Festival, this Saturday October 17th!
www.globalchessfestival.com
We will be sponsoring / partnering with a number of local chess organizers around the United States to help promote tournaments and events on the day.
Those looking to play rated chess on October 17th will have another reason to do so! This special day will also provide an opportunity for those who may not be ready to make the "rated chess plunge" but are looking to get involved with their local chess community.
For many of our members, this might be a good chance to give "over the board" chess a try for the first time.
One example of an event taking place in Florida can be found here:

So if you're a local to the Boca Raton area, check it out! You can contact the organier of the Baca Raton event, NM Jeff Haskel, here on Chess.com! His username is Persian_Elephant1
Please stay tuned to this thread for more announcements and information regarding chess tournaments in your area and regarding our coverage of the Highlander Cup (featuring World Champion Anatoly Karpov!!!) and the 3rd Annual USA vs Hungary ChessKid.com Match!
