This photo was taken around May 2008. I have tons of pictures of Wesley  of recent years. You don't believe?

So, get him to go to My Home-Account-Profile and register as a GM.

I'm a GM, and didn't say it on here. Well I'll admit not quite, but I believe I will be soon, I'm sure. Within the next couple of months.

Can I be your driver?

Actually, its really true, but I'll admit GM stands for something else.

Hey, I don't really care what it stands for as long as I can bask in your glory. Although a T-shirt and a photo or two wouldn't go amiss, just to confirm my claim to fame.

Give me a free chess lesson, and I'll consider it. LOL.

Guitarzan ponders, " Hmmm, .... 'GM stands for something else', huh? Well, General Motors has already been taken (in more ways than one); hmmm ... what could it be? Geico Marketee? Wow, who isn't ? Hmmm , .... GRAND MOTHER! That's it !!! woodshover is a grand mother! It even rhymes! (kinda)

Elementary, my dear Watson Cool

Isn't it the case that when a famous player joins Chess.com, there is a staff-written article to commemorate the event? I'm pretty sure this was the case with GM Julio Becerra. I think the main reason for registering as a titled player is that you get free membership and a bunch of other perks.

The only reason I can think of for why this wouldn't be the case is if the player wants to remain anonymous. Even then, they could still register and get all the benefits of being a titled player. But since you found out, and others players would too after reading your post, then wouldn't this defeat the purpose of it?

I'm not sure I'm buying this. =/

I can't believe you didn't think of General Manager.

Avatar of jerry2468

there are many more GMs

woodshover,

I have a silly streak. General Manager is pretty obvious, but I wasn't going in that direction. Feel free to make silly statements about my posts anytime.

only one way to know - I would ask Wesley So myself. I will get back to this and post his reply.
