Hans Niemann is back and it's business as usual

It seems to me the only thing chess.com focuses on is pushing the issue under the rug as much as possible.
The site cares even less about solving the problem.
F the rest of us, catering to high profile special people goes before us lowly peasants.
This site has 0 intent on cracking down. What sickens me is the political sweet talk of "taking it serious". If you want to know the truth, look at the actions, don't look at the words.
Shame on you, spineless site.
You're a high value-added player and you've been here since 2009. I'm kinda' surprised you're just now figuring this out. Most of the highly-rated/skill players in your peer group have stopped posting here, and many no longer play here.
It's a Silicon Valley money site, plain and simple. Sketchy behaviour and unethical conduct doesn't matter to the owners; revenue is what counts. That's all.
Something something love of money something ...

I'm glad Hans Niemann is back and resolved their differences with chess.com and everyone else involved. Let's just hope that chess is played fairly from here on out. I agree with chess.com and their October 2022 public report:
https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/23118744-oct-2022-final-h-niemann-report
I'm happy to see things moving forward in a better direction though; hopefully the chess world can move past this for now.

But some GMs are still mean to Hans.😡
Well, lots of titled players used to be "mean" with Hikaru Nakamura as well. Some personalities just don't really get along with a lot of people, but this is more of a person thing and not really a chess thing.

what happened?

@R0L I guess you haven't heard if you just joined chess.com but in the chess world there was a big cheating allegation a while ago with Hans Niemann in the Sinquefield Cup. You can check the YouTube channel GothamChess if you want a good summary of what happened.
The news now if that everything was resolved peacefully and the lawsuits were dropped.

Hikaru was the most hated top player for quite some time and for good reason. But he’s cleaned up his act recently aside from the Hans incident.

True @SoupSailor72 I think Hikaru still has his moments by personality, but I can see that he seems to have matured with age.

Why are you responding to a thread that's been dead for more than a full year? What is your point exactly?

I'm so sorry Mr thread monitor slave master. What's YOUR point exactly, why are YOU responding?? I'll get ur permission next time since ur so obsessed over controlling others.
Hello there,
I must say I am most unhappy about the recent changes in the policy of chess.com to deal with the special people who we are not allowed to mention here. It seems to me the only thing chess.com focuses on is pushing the issue under the rug as much as possible. They have long ago created a group only wherein you can speak of the special class of people who seem to enjoy a great deal of protection by the site. That's an old and tested way to hide the problem, every tyrant in history took away the free speech.
In the mean time, the reporting of the special people who we can not mention here has gotten from being able to describe the issue into not being able to attach a message at all. This makes me feel the site cares even less about solving the problem with the special people who enjoy a status so high on this site that we can not even mention them here. Perhaps the site grew tired of people giving feedback via those reports, let's face it, the feedback for reporting an obvious special person who could have been detected by a simple algorithm scanning rating progress charts is rarely roses.
Also in the mean time, the self confessed and chess.com confirmed serial special person Hans Niemann is back on the site like nothing happened. This special person was so special that the chess.com staff helped him hide his special person status from his streaming audience and did their best to keep it under the rug. Ah yes the rug, the same rug under which the site likes to sweep the discussion about the special people. They are so special after all, I mean, F the rest of us, catering to high profile special people goes before us lowly peasants.
This site has 0 intent on truly cracking down on the special people. What sickens me is the political sweet talk of "taking it serious". If you want to know the truth, look at the actions, don't look at the words. The actions:
1. Ban free speech on the special protected class of people
2. Work with high profile special persons in a conspiracy against their fans and viewers
3. Let high profile special people back on the site no matter how many 1000s of times they use their special ways on the site.
Looking at the actions we see the truth.
Now let us hear some political talk from a staff member or let us see a staff member close or remove this topic since speech on the special protected class of people is not allowed here.
Shame on you, spineless site.
