Harassment report function

I feel like most of the report options are just for making you feel like you took action against a toxic player. In all of my time on this platform not once i have received feedback on a harassment report. There are so many people where you just know that they harass their opponents every other game and they dont see any consequences. Today some wannabe started chatting and insulting me because he was upset i kept playing a lost position. I know that Chess.com can't hire thousands of people for manual reviews but it can't be that dificult to at least automatically filter for the people that start chatting for the sole purpose of harassing their opponent... Just flagging for literal insults is too cheap of a system. Knowing how much money Chess.com is raking in it's a tough pill to swallow that they continue letting the bad apples of the community spoil the otherwise respectful environment.

There is an automated system to monitor chat but people can get around it sometimes and other times it censors homophones. Reporting does work and removes many people. I doubt you are aware when people are muted. Many people learn to curtail their excesses.

There is a way to report truly abusive behavior in Support.

I think it likely that they will have an AI based detection system at some point that will be 99% effective.

I'll chime in here to confirm that I've received confirmation action was taken after I made reports. Perhaps if multiple reports are made, only the first caller gets an acknowledgement. *Shrug*

"toxic"

Yeah sure. Like you eat 'em.

What an emabarrassement to human kind, when our vocabulary is so crowded with words such as "annoying", "aggressive", "rude", "full of themselves", "arrogant", "egoistic", "self centered", "sadistic", "cruel", "mean", "ill minded", "boring", "invasive", "ill mannered", "sell absorbed", "capricious", "tyranic", "depressing", "manipulative"...

But one has to borrow a word from the poisoned mushrooms so they can speak out their mind about someone's attitude and behaviour.

It's sad.

This is what a moderator should do. When a spammer spams utter nonsense everywhere, the role of a moderator is to aid them. Good job.

feel you. during games most of the time i dont even bother with accepting chat-requests. 50% of the time its just some random insult. in non-rated games this goes up to 99%. what really triggers me though... i still have a private message in my inbox of a player with the text "co***d piece of shyt" i answered the same day "that will probably get you banned" and the other player replied "what a lo**r" reported both. that players account is still active. got another one from a different player with the short but clear message "tr**h" reported him, account still active. thats still not it. another player wrote me "hi , lo**r ! fake 2000". reported, account remains active. finally, back in 2024 i got a message from another player with the nice words "play with black pieces also sh*t over-rated" as well as a 2nd message "you played like sh*t, sh*t ucrainian,I could've won a piece id**t"
that account was closed the same day he wrote the message. dont know if it was due to the message or maybe he did something worse. probably the latter because obviously chess.com doesnt really care about insulting messages.

at least it seems they do here as i had to change some of the words otherwise i cant post this
