It sounds like you are already pretty good... take your losses that are putting you in second place and review them. Also work with your weaker players too -- many clubs focus on the 2 or 3 best guys and ignore the rest, but winning as a team means each player needs to win many games and its easier to beef up your weaker players and get a 1300 to beat a 1500 than to teach your 1900 to beat a 2200.

How can I improve my highschool chess club. We go to chess tournaments and always come second. We meet once a week, we have chess coaches who are rated 1800-2000. We have chess clocks, and next year we are going to the ontario highschool chess championships. What should I do to improve our highschool chess club. Any suggestions.
