How do I force a draw?

My opponent and I are at move 67 on daily chess, and it's a dead draw. We each have a queen, and I have an extra pawn, but I can't stop checking him or he'll check me. The problem is that I can keep checking until the end of time, and neither of us can make progress, but he has refused my draw offer. Can I somehow appeal to the powers that be to get this declared a draw?

I don't think so.  I remember reading in the ancient past about them adjudicating some stalled positions but it doesn't look like there's any stalling.

You do have the fifty move rule if you make it that far.

Hi,

Unfortunately, rules are just rules, and you cannot force a draw regardless of how drawish the position is. You'll have to either force a threefold repetition, or play out 50 moves without moving your pawn and draw by 50-move rule.

I checked your game, and I don't see why you wouldn't want to play on in this position. You said it yourself, you have an extra pawn. If your position is better, there's no reason to try to make a draw. Just push your pawn and try your best to win the game.

OK, we'll keep going.

Just hope they don't move their pawn on move 49.

Has anyone asked ogimenezm if they're OK with an FM coaching their opponent during a live game? It's one thing to describe stalemates and how they may be achieved. It's another thing entirely to look at a game and recommend courses of action. That's usually called cheating.

I was NOT looking for advice on how to play this game. I already know that. I was looking for advice on how to (possibly) get the admins at chess.com to call this a draw and keep this from dragging out for another 40+ moves. This game is absolutely dead, and I just want to bury it.

I thought the site rule's was that you can't post threads about games in progress. I'll remember that was a site lie ....

I don't think you did anything wrong. I just feel that Ellipsoul went too far with his advice. He should have stopped short of suggesting you play on.
