Well it one of those things that though you can make a generalization, you shouldn’t try and apply it to specific players. I suck at blitz always have always will. A bit better at slower time controls ( my daily is inflated mainly because daily players don’t always finish their games, or I win in an endgame ). Others are opposite better at blitz worse at slower.

Right. 30 million users. 1.5 million "active" players. Something doesn't add up. Are 29.5 million here for the forums? Lessons? Puzzle Rush?

I know there are many players with multiple accounts. That affects the stats.

When I used to play here I would randomly get paired up with people I had played before. I thought that was strange if there was really X amount of thousands of players playing at that time. I very much doubt there are 30 million different actual people who have signed up for chess.com. The only way that could make sense is if some people are deleting accounts and activating new ones hundreds or even thousands of times a day.
But if there really are 29.5 million people just using lessons, forums, and tactics, I would be one of them.
I dont say it is an big achivement in life - i just think that in FIDE realm 1600 is considered , somewhat ok, advanced beginner class - but in chess com 1600-1650 is something like 1750-1800 fide.
I knew i was little more than advanced beginner when i was around 1600 here so i was confused why i cant beat easily 1600 players as i did many times OTB. I thought the reality hit me , and that i had just pure luck OTB - but I was wrong, different pool, different rating system and it is ok.
I m just joking with announcing and bragging that I'm in top 3-4 percent Probably we are if we count not serious people who play chess. I think we are even in 0.0somethign percent if we count every human on the planet

I've known people who opened an account, then after many months of non-use, opened another because they couldn't remember their password. I suspect there are many thousands of people who have done this sort of thing.
1.5 million active users is completely reasonable... Even before Covid.
1600 here and 1850 otb? its supposed to be opposite

Your daily rating is past 2200, making you stronger than many titled players. I seriously doubt that your FIDE rating is 1400.

the problem i had was that i was insecure about my chess skills. But ratings of Fide and here are weirdly correlated. On chess com there are many 3000+ players while on fide there are none.
My estimation is just that 1600 chess com players are stronger than 1600 FIDE players. probably around 150-200 points stronger.

There is no way you can be top 3.7 % with 1800+.
While I was active in here with 2000+ rating, they count me as top 1%.
( Because they also count inactive and all registered accounts). They also count members in this site as 30 million .
