How many forum members are >2100 rated?

I'm wondering if the worldwide stats of around 95% percentiles for >2100 players would apply in here, as well. looks like anything below 2600 is more like 75 - 80% on chess.com.

6,809 players rated >2100.

That is 0.02015% of the 33,793,422 players on CDC. I assume most players out of the 33.8m don't play most of the time though.

Around 1800 is actually the 99th percentile. You can look at the global leaderboard and see how many players are above 2100 and divide that by the number of active members on the site though. My guess is they'd be near 99.7 or 99.8 percentile

Now on the other hand, there are fewer than 2000 GMs globally. So let's round to easy numbers and say 2,000/8,000,000,000

That's 1 GM out of every 4,000,000 people.

Taking it even further the world champion is literally better than 1 out of 8 billion. It's possible to get there but you cannot get there if you're not willing to do what others don't.

As for forum posters: only a hand full.

That's insane. Yeah, 1800 seems to be the sweet spot. On lichess that is not the case, but people here seem to be much stronger in comparison.

No you didn't. A good number of your games are against low rated opponents. You created your account back in April at the maximum allowed rating. Creating a fresh account with very few games played does not equal 2100.

If only I had 1 more rating...

I’ve proven my strength beating those 2000s players. I didn’t start chess this April to be at this level

Are you talking about otb cause I'm on the on like the top 15000-20000 in blitz and bullet (rapid to on another account )

So probably not very accurate unless it is rapid

Avatar of BigChessplayer665

Most 2000+ switch to bullet or blitz eventually so the statistics may not be super accurate even if it is accurate for rapid cause most 2100 blitz people that don't play rapid would beat a 2100+ in rapid

Yep, actually bullet and blitz players are stronger...

I am only 1600 blitz lol(even though I am probably specialized in 10 mins and played little blitz)

Where are the ratings of yester-year?

Gone, like the melting snow.
