I have 58 people on my list, but no one has accepted...
How many people are on your friends list?

The OP is you.

An eye for an eye, only leads to a community of blind people. (let it go)
I think it's too personal a question. Once you publicly admit to having say, 50 friends, then each of those feels they're only getting 2% of your friendship focus.
There's no upper limit to how many friends you can have on this site (such as the '200' limit for blocks). You could have thousands (perhaps millions, if you worked at it).

A combative / reactive stance on a chess site's forum & chat rooms, is like putting blood in the water for sharks.
I predict if you took a step back, responded less briskly and less vehemently, you'd find the sharks would have far less interest in 'baiting' you.

Oh MY, I got seven on my friends list. How did that happen?
But real friends in my life are the more important ones and I can count them on one hand. Those are the ones that come and help when there is a need without hesitation.

48 friends. I never offer friend requests, but I will usually accept them.
Same here (but with only 10 friends).

More interesting I think than number is people's policies regarding such.
About 75% of my friends list on here is comprised of people I already knew from elsewhere who have come here to play chess with me; the other 25% is comprised of people whom I've played and either have requested friendship or I have with them, because we found our shared games particularly stimulating and wished to therefore continue that connection.

I have a similar policy.
I have 26 in mine.
