How many people spend more time posting in forums then they spend playing chess?

I read the forum when I need a break from playing chess or when I'm waiting for a move; of course, because I hope (and hope springs eternal) to learn something about chess and or about how real chess players think.

How would you know enough about forums to formulate a clear-opinion when you have only been a member of the site for a few days?

You said it Anna: a lot of them "seem" mentally unstable, but are not.  If they were their behavior might actually be considered understandable (for a crazy person).

Those that post chess-stuff in the forums are generally rubbish at chess. Those that post other stuff/debate in the forums are generally good at chess and also at multi-tasking.

I feel insulted!!!!

Not me buddy. I've got thousands of games played and only a couple hundred forum posts.

The forums are less of a commitment, and more enjoyable for someone as bad at chess as I am.

much of the utter chaos that goes on in these here forums is, I think, mostly as a result of the inter-generational mingling.
