The pirate bots have really nice pieces. Where can I add those to my board? I don't see the option in settings

They aren't generally available.
There is a new feature being tested in Beta where playing the monthly bots give coins to unlock items, including flairs and the pirate board and pieces.

You need a mod.It will never work if you don’t have a mod.They are not available in settings. They are not an option. You need to pay money 💰.
