I think small towns in America could be fun actually, unless it's Washington DC.
I grew up in a small town of 900. I remember the community called it a village because it was so small.

I'm not sure how my "town" ended up with a name, since it's unincorporated and doesn't have any legal status. No elected officials or anything.

The town where I grew up was 15 miles away from the next nearest town. I met a girl from New Jersey once, and when I said that to her she stared at me in disbelief. She had never considered the possibility that there were people who lived outside the megalopolis.
