Seeing post like these turns me away from studying. I would be pissed if I studied for hours only to play mediocre because that is time you can’t get back. I’ll advise to not study and just play the game. Learn from experience and hopefully down the road, something will click.
I’ve had times when I felt like quitting but just accepted that I suck and won’t be the next big thing in chess.
My rating has fluctuated between 1600-1900 this past month or 2 and I’ve gotten to a point where I don’t care to lose or win anymore. I just use chess to pass time since it’s the best game on a mobile device.
