Hi! Start with understanding the fundamentals of chess, opening principles, piece safety and activity, and basic pawn play ideas (passed pawns, isolated pawns, pawn chains). Basic checkmates on a king with king and queen, rook and king, and promoting a pawn with the assistance of your king.

Solving puzzles is going to help you a lot in learning to spot weak pieces and squares, and developing tactical acumen. Play games often, but it is quality over quantity. Playing speed chess will not improve your chess nearly as much as playing slow chess like Daily, Rapid time controls. You want to develop good habits like thoughtful consideration of each move, learning to understand what pieces are interacting and accomplishing in each position, and calculating ideas, which you need time to do properly. Later on speed chess will be more helpful and fun, but I recommend you table that for now.
