I read somewhere strong players are statistically less intelligent, so if you work hard you can atleast become a genius chess player

I strongly disagree with you also, there is no evidence to suggest strong players are more intelligent, just harder and smarter workers. E.g. Tyler1's grit > talent story. Or it is easy to say because kids have more neuroplasticity they learn better, but adults can understand complexity better and you don't see beneath the iceberg the grit, Nemo Zhou mentioned recently putting in 6 hours a day as a kid for example, so those kids aren't born prodigies, they no-life chess. Realistically you have to frame it from a fixed-mindset otherwise you would hurt the ego admitting you just aren't as disciplined as other people.
