I had my pawn on f4 and his pawn was on e4. So one next to the other.

His next move he moved the pawn to f3 and my f4 pawn was gone.

I got images but don't know how to post them.

That's not cheating. That's just capturing en passant.

It is a real Chess rule. You would have to have moved your pawn two spaces to f4 after his pawn was already on e4.

A lot of people don't know the rules and the question (or claim) is posted about a lot, and most of the time it's not someone posting it as a joke.

That said, the "meme from anarchychess" part of the title might have been a giveaway. I'd expect at least one of two moderators to spot it. But no.
