Is Daimond Worth It?
It's not. I had Diamond for a full 6 months and it was cool, but, it's not way better than Platinum and the price is simply unjustifiable.
In my opinion, Platinum is the best value tier...
- Platinum
- Free
- Gold
- Diamond
Diamond which I have is best for supporting chess.com and opens all featurre with no limits, where as Platinum is the best for anyone who wants to just play and not take everything so seriously.
It is worth it if you want a deep understanding of your game but if you do not need insights, 300+ free courses and move explanations the go platinum.
what makes plat better
that you have insights, 300+ free courses and move explanations
What a diamond membership offers is tools that can make you a better chess player. But it is still up to YOU to put in the time and effort.
For me? No. Why pay for things you can get for free.
How do you have diamond then
what makes plat better

I don't think platinum has insights

Recommendation of a former coach.
Had diamond for year and downgraded to platinum, the difference is the game reviews and move explanations and I think that's it. Which I found can sometimes be helpful. However, a lot of the times the correct move would be something I'd never see or consider and my level. I feel I get more out of self analysis than review from engine, at least at beginner level.

Someone that finally gets it! You are on the right path to improvement.

If you're really taking chess seriously, you'd get a coach or some courses. Chess.com Diamond is nice, but, it offers nothing that will seriously help you grow. The features are fun and do help with growth, but they pale in comparison with significant tools like courses, books, coaching, and independent study.
Platinum is best for those who want to take it seriously (since it has all the truly important features), but prefer to reallocate money to places where it brings you better value.

Agreed. What the site offers can be useful for improvement. But unless you hire a coach, you have no one to keep you from veering off the right path. Its one thing to think you're doing something correctly and its quite another to have someone tell you you aren't.

Obviously. I do not need or want someone else to do what I can afford to do.

Then why did you say don't pay for things you can get for free
