IMO a top 3 list needs to start with: Magnus Carlsen, Garry Kasparov, and Bobby Fischer.

I agree with this lineup of Magnus, kasparov, Fischer its always difficult judging between historical figures, There are those who would put Kasparov slightly ahead of Magnus based on world championship defences but there is little between them, and there would also be a Fanbase saying Fischer was No1 but I would put Fischer at No.3 based on his talent, why not No.1 (That spot has to go to those who where multiple successful defenders of the title) so it has to be between Carlsen & Kasparov for that crown!
Many say Magnus is the GOAT, but some argue that players like Kasparov, Fischer, or Capablanca had bigger influence. What do you think — is Magnus truly the greatest ever, or only the best in the modern computer era?
